Every year in the middle of June, parents and friends put out these banners of congratulations in my town. There's something so sweet and endearing about them and I wanted to share. We did this for our son when he graduated and seeing these each year is a wonderful reminder of the support the local kids get!
We have seen some professionally made signs, but the handmade signs are the best as far as I am concerned. You might think the kids would be embarrassed, but I have never heard that they are anything but pleased with this acknowledgment!
Thanks to my son for taking these photos for me.
Here's a card from 100 years ago for a school class day.
It probably honored the graduates too!

I've seen quite a few of those same signs on my travels! Before long we'll be doing the same thing at this house! =)
i love those signs!!! i agree, the ones hand made with love are the best!!!
What a thoughtful tribute to the well deserved graduate.....and how special that the signs are hand made.
It's so exciting to see the next generation begin their life's journey.
Happy 4th of July,

how fun! I love seeing all the cars decorated too. I can't believe mine is going into highschool this fall! before I know it, it will be me making those signs!

That’s a very thoughtful thing to do, posting "congratulation" banners for the graduates of 2009. The parents must be so proud.
Wow! Love the colorful banners, the 2009 graduates deserve to be acknowledge their achievements.
